Strike 3 Holdings Tennessee Filings: 4 New Cases (Sept. 29–Oct. 5, 2026)
This Strike 3 Holdings Tennessee update covers 4 new John Doe copyright cases that Strike 3 Holdings, LLC filed in Tennessee federal courts between September 29 and October 5, 2026: 2 in the Middle District of Tennessee and 2 in the Western District of Tennessee.
Each complaint names an internet subscriber only by an IP address. A filing is not a finding that the account holder downloaded anything. Many judges have noted the infringer may be a family member, roommate, guest, neighbor or someone else. One of those judges is a United State Supreme Court Justice – Justice Sotomayor stated in Sony v. Cox Communications: “When Cox receives a copyright-violation notice, however, the notice specifies only which connection was used to infringe, not who used it to commit infringement.”

What Exhibit A shows
Exhibit A is the plaintiff’s one- or few-page list attached to each of the Strike 3 Holdings Tennessee complaints. It states a location, an IP address, an ISP name, a total “works infringed” count, and a line for each title with a UTC timestamp and a copyright registration number. The location is where the plaintiff says the IP address geolocates. It is not a street address, and it is not a finding about who used the connection. The works count is an allegation in the filing, not a bill.
If your letter is about one of these Strike 3 Holdings Tennessee cases, match the full docket number on your letter, including the courthouse location digit before the colon. A city match alone is not enough, because several cases in the same city can be filed on the same day.

All four Strike 3 Holdings Tennessee complaints listed above (3:26-cv-01396, 3:26-cv-01419, 2:26-cv-03292, and 2:26-cv-03293) are signed by two attorneys for Strike 3 Holdings, LLC: Dawn M. Who is handling these cases – The Judges
Both Western District of Tennessee cases (2:26-cv-03292 and 2:26-cv-03293) carry the same judge initials on the filed documents, TLP and cgc, meaning they were assigned to the same district judge (Judge Thomas L. Parker) and the same magistrate judge (Magistrate Judge Charmiane G. Claxton) in the Memphis courthouse. Because one judge is handling both, the two cases will likely move on the same timetable when Strike 3 Holdings asks for permission to subpoena Comcast Cable.
What usually happens next
A complaint filed in court, including the Strike 3 Holdings Tennessee complaints above, does not mean a letter goes out that day. Strike 3 Holdings first asks the judge for permission to serve a subpoena on the internet provider before the usual discovery conference. If the judge allows it, the provider writes to its subscriber, usually with the case number, the IP address, and a date. That date is normally the provider’s own date for responding to the subpoena. It is not a deadline to answer a complaint that names you. Orders and timing vary by judge, so read your letter carefully. Subpoena timing is covered on its own page: Strike 3 Holdings ISP subpoena orders.
The person who pays the internet bill may not be the person who used the connection. A housemate, guest, family member, or someone on an open network can share the same IP address.
What you can do
If you receive a provider letter about one of the Strike 3 Holdings Tennessee cases:
- Keep the provider’s letter and the envelope or email it came in.
- Write down the docket number and the date on the letter.
- Do not contact Strike 3 Holdings or its lawyers yourself before you understand your options.
- Do not delete files or change equipment in a way that could look like destroying evidence.

Client review of Melissa Ross
“Woking with Melissa was fantastic. She was really effective in communicating with me in layman terms; translating legalize, explaining the process and making me feel I was in really good hands. She was always reachable and extremely prompt in communicating the back and forth between opposing counsel. I couldn’t have asked for more from Melissa. Because of the time zone, I was catching her late in her evenings and she always responded – THANK YOU. Sometimes you get lucky with the initial interview process, and I certainly did.”
