Criminal Productions, Inc. Going After Century Link Subscribers in Colorado Springs, Colorado

Criminal Productions, Inc., the purported copyright holder to the movie “Criminal” is going after Century Link internet subscribers in Colorado Springs and a Comcast Cable internet subscriber in Littleton for allegedly downloading the movie without permission in violation of the US Copyright Act.  The case is Criminal Productions, Inc. v. Does 1-13 16-cv-01836-WYD-MEH.

On July 19th, Criminal Productions, Inc filed a motion with the court to expedite the discovery of the names of those persons who pay the internet bill so that the internet subscribers may be named and served with the lawsuit.

In the lawsuit’s Complaint, Criminal Productions, Inc. alleges that 13 unnamed defendants downloaded the BitTorrent file to obtain the movie, via a file named “Criminal.2016.TS.XviD-VAiN” according to the motion to expedite discovery. The motion includes a declaration in support  signed by Daniel Macek of Maverickeye UG of Germany. Note: Criminal Productions, Inc., alleges the Century Link internet subscribers used μTorrent 3.4.7, and the Comcast Cable subscriber in Littleton used libtorrent 1.0.0.
