Cell Film Holdings LLC Says Aloha to Hawaiian Telecom Downloaders!
Cell Film Holdings LLC, the copyright holder for the movie “Cell” starring John Cusak and Samuel Jackson, has begun suing Hawaiian Telecom users who allegedly downloaded the film using file-sharing software over the internet in violation of the US Copyright Act.
Hawaiian Telecom users in Hawaii, Honolulu, and Maui counties can expect to receive letters from Hawaiian Telecom informing them that a subpoena from Cell Film Holdings LLC was received to reveal their identity. If you are the account holder for your Comcast internet account, your name is linked to an IP address which can be seen and tracked on the internet.
