Dallas Buyers Club LLC hits 4000 Defendants

Dallas Buyers Club LLC, the copyright holder suing thousands across the country for allegedly downloading the movie Dallas Buyers Club illegally using peer-to-peer technology has now reached over 4,000 defendants targeted in hundreds of lawsuits nationwide, just four months after reaching the 3,000 mark in August 2014.

On Friday, Dallas Buyers Club LLC filed 5 new copyright lawsuits against an 68 additional “John Doe” defendants in the Eastern District of Michigan:

Like each previous federal lawsuit filed by Dallas Buyers Club LLC, the company alleges these as-yet anonymous Doe defendants illegally downloaded the movie Dallas Buyers Club using BitTorrent or similar peer-to-peer file-sharing programs without paying the appropriate license fee.
