Criminal Productions, Inc. Granted Court Orders to issue ISP Subpoenas in Colorado

Folks in Colorado will soon be receiving ISP letters telling them a subpoena was received to reveal their identity in a lawsuit filed by Criminal Productions, Inc.

On July 13, 2016 Colorado district judge Michael E. Hegarty granted Criminal Productions, Inc.’s request for early discovery and to issue subpoenas to internet Service Providers (ISPs) to reveal the identities of certain subscribers who are alleged to have illegally downloaded the movie “Criminal.” The case is 16-cv-01761 Criminal Productions Inc v Does 1-21

For those not familiar with this case, Criminal Productions, Inc. has filed a federal copyright infringement lawsuit involving the film titled “Criminal” with Ryan Reynolds, Kevin Costner, and Gary Oldman. The film plot involves the implantation of a dead CIA agent’s memories into the mind of a convict. In Colorado, Criminal Productions, Inc. plaintiff is represented by attorney Scott Thomas Kannady.
