The Strike 3 Holdings lawsuits allege that defendants used file-sharing software like BitTorrent to download their adult content illegally.

Strike 3 Holdings distributes its adult films through the subscription-based websites Blacked, Vixen, and Tushy. Illegal downloads of these adult films have reportedly caused revenue losses for the company. In one recent case, Strike 3 Holdings sued a John Doe defendant identified by IP address number 67.174.248.166 for more than $150,000 for allegedly downloading their adult content through a BitTorrent file distribution network.

Greg Lansky is co-owner of Strike 3 Holdings and filed a declaration with the District Court in December 2017 against the John Doe defendant stating “We send on average 50,000 DMCA (Digital Millennium Copyright Act) notices a month but it does virtually nothing to stop the rampant copyright infringement. The only effective way to stop the piracy of our movies on BitTorrent networks is to file lawsuits like this one.”

This case was settled for an undetermined amount on March 5^th, 2018. Settling is one option for these lawsuits. Many defendants choose a settlement because it can provide peace of mind and allows them to retain anonymity.
