Criminal Productions Subpoenas to Vegas Residents – Legal Help and Tips

Criminal Productions Inc., the copyright holder of the movie “Criminal” starring Kevin Costner and Ryan Reynolds, has filed numerous copyright infringement lawsuits against alleged internet downloaders. The cases are:

  • Criminal Productions Inc. v. John and Jane Does 1-16 2:16-cv-02704
  • Criminal Productions Inc. v. John and Jane Does 1-11 2:16-cv-02691
  • Criminal Productions Inc. v. Does 1-7    2:16-cv-02689
  • Criminal Productions Inc. v. Does 1-16 2:16-cv-02201
  • Criminal Productions Inc. v. Does 1-22 2:16-cv-01968

We expect Criminal Productions Inc to issue subpoenas to COX Communications to reveal the names of numerous unnamed defendants who allegedly illegally downloaded the movie using file-sharing software like BitTorrent.

The defendants are currently only referred to by their IP addresses and live in Las Vegas and Henderson, with many appearing to be in or near the following: Sante Fe Station Hotel and Casino,  North Las Vegas Airport,  Shadow Creek Golf Course,  north of North Las Vegas, North Las Vegas, the Strip, Henderson,  Summerlin, Paradise,  and Red Rock Canyon.

In August, Criminal Productions Inc., filed a lawsuit against 22 Las Vegas residents using COX Communications internet service. That case is Criminal Productions Inc. v. Does 1-22 16-cv-01968. Read about that case here.

For the case filed in August, Criminal Productions 16-cv-01968 click here for a copy of the Order by District of Nevada Magistrate Judge Carl W. Hoffman allowing subpoenas to issue to COX Communications. These subpoenas are to reveal the names of internet subscribers associated with certain IP addresses alleged to have torrented the movie “Criminal.”

The lawsuit Complaint filed by Criminal Productions Inc alleges that these defendants illegally downloaded the film via a file called Criminal 2016 1080p BluRay x264 DTS-JYK  using file hash number SHA1: A921EF0F3148C570CF63C243960CE82F69C10D21

For the case filed in September, the File name alleged is  Criminal.2016.720p.WEBRip.x264.AAC-ETRG with a file hash of SHA1: 92453EEE2E12CF8F793403C26005084D4BBA1563

Please tell your friends NOT to download this movie or they may be sued. Their first notice will be receiving one of the several Criminal Productions Inc subpoenas.
