New Copyright Holder Targeting Oregon

Elargo Holdings LLC filed a lawsuit against several John Doe defendants in Oregon. The lawsuit claims the defendants illegally downloaded the copyrighted movie “Close Range.” The movie stars Scott Adkins and Nick Chinlund in a film about a soldier protecting his family from a corrupt sheriff and a drug cartel.

To date, Elargo Holdings LLC has only filed a lawsuit in the District of Oregon. Attorney Carl Crowell represents the plaintiff.

As in similar BitTorrent file sharing cases, Elargo Holdings LLC claims the defendants committed copyright infringement by file sharing the movie using BitTorrent software without paying the appropriate license fee.

If you are targeted and receive a letter from your ISP notifying you a subpoena was received to reveal your identity, there are several options.
