Dallas Buyers Club LLC Still Suing Downloaders in 2015

Share

Dallas Buyers Club, LLC was one of the busiest copyright enforcers of 2014. Beginning in February the company filed lawsuits targeting more than 4000 individuals in the US alone. In addition, Dallas Buyers Club LLC began targeting alleged infringers in Australia and Japan.

Now in its second year,  in 2015 so far Dallas Buyers Club LLC has filed copyright infringement lawsuits in 6 different states involving nearly 500 defendants. The cumulative total number of defendants targeted may soon exceed 5,000. From the looks of things, Dallas Buyers Club LLC isn’t going away anytime soon and people continue to illegally download the movie.

Its is not a good idea to download the Dallas Buyers Club movie. If you are a parent make sure your children are not doing this; if you have roommates make sure your roommates are not doing this, as being a target of a federal lawsuit like this over a movie download is not fun, not fair, and is avoidable.

Like each previous federal lawsuit filed by Dallas Buyers Club LLC, the company alleges these as-yet anonymous Doe defendants illegally downloaded the movie Dallas Buyers Club using BitTorrent or similar peer-to-peer file-sharing programs without paying the appropriate license fee.
